We can perform non destructive entry to most vehicles. This means we do not bend the doors open and stick a coat hanger. Most modern vehicles can deadlock which will defeat the old fashioned coat hanger trick anyway. We open vehicles without resorting to force. (Although if you know your locks are broken there may be no other option). If you’ve locked your keys in your car or the boot anywhere near Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Forest of Dean etc, give us a call.
For us to open your vehicle will be a lot less hassle than if you smash your own window and have to replace it. By all means watch YouTube and try opening your car door with a tennis ball, but you’ll feel pretty silly after and hour or two when you still haven’t got in.
Why are car keys and remotes so expensive compared to a house key? Modern cars have immobilisers fitted to prevent theft. The immobiliser looks for the exact transponder (chip) that has been programmed before it allows the vehicle to start. Whilst the metal part of the key can easily be copied (or the lock smashed off), the electronics and transponder in the key/remote are more difficult. It is difficult for a reason – to make it harder for somebody to steal your vehicle.

Should you bother getting a spare car key? That’s up to you. It will probably be much more expensive once you’ve lost all existing keys. Getting a spare cut and programmed can save you a lot of cost and drama. Some vehicles can be 5-10x more expensive to get a new key once you’ve lost all keys.
