Customer’s Jeep wouldn’t start and had been recovered back from the nearest town. They bought a new remote off Amazon. They had the key cut on the high street but were disappointed the new remote wouldn’t start the car when they got home.

Of course it wouldn’t start. The vehicle immobiliser did not recognise the new key. If any remote bought off Amazon/Ebay would start every other car of the same make/model then cars would be even easier to steal.
Our equipment was able to obtain the PIN code for the vehicle and program the remote for the customer.
There is always a risk sourcing the remote yourself. Buying 2nd hand remotes is especially fraught as apart from VAG, Ford and a few others the keys / remotes cannot be re-used. Just because seller says the have been tested and working doesn’t mean they’ll work on your vehicle.
